Importance of Zero Landfill

Make A Change, Contribute To The Zero Landfill Initiative

A full dumpster getting picked up.

At LJP Waste Solutions, our focus is on recycling and converting uncommon materials into fuel for sustainability purposes. These environmental services allow us to help you and each of our clients reach their individual sustainability goals to ward off pollution. The overarching goal of the zero landfill initiative is to reach a world with zero waste. Though that is not feasible right now, it is something to aim for. Since we opened our doors for business in 1993, we have been leading the way to a sustainable world with zero landfill.

What Does Zero Landfill Do?

The goal of the zero landfill initiative is to keep all waste out of landfills and the environment. This initiative focuses on reusing, recycling, and converting materials to keep them out of these areas. By participating in sustainability efforts, you can contribute to several positive environmental changes, such as:

  • Preserve Natural Resources
  • Eliminate Use Of Fossil Fuels
  • And more

LJP is just one of many national companies that are striving to make a difference in sustainability. However, our team is the area leader and we serve a variety of areas, including:

  • Southern Minnesota
  • Northern Iowa
  • Eastern Nebraska
  • Eastern South Dakota
  • Central Illinois
  • And More

As we continue to grow, we can continue to reduce carbon footprints across the country, and even overseas.

Why Does Zero Landfill Matter?

The alternative to zero landfill is what millions of companies across the world have been doing for decades. This alternative involves dumping all waste in landfills, instead of reusing or converting the material. Since we opened our doors in 1993, we have been focused on contributing to sustainability and finding safe, environmentally friendly alternatives to landfills. With our custom process, we have continued to improve as new technologies have become available.

We provide detailed reports to our customers and environmental agencies to show the difference we are making. Most of the materials we handle are converted to Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF), recycled, or composted. Here are some of our numbers from 2017 and 2018:
