Part Of a Larger Goal

As a company that promotes the zero landfill initiative, we are part of a larger push for zero waste. The goal of the zero waste initiative is to convert all waste so it can be turned into fuel or reused. If many companies were to do this, it could create a world with no solid waste and zero hazardous waste. LJP is one of many companies nationally that is striving to make a difference in sustainability. While it is possible for some materials to be converted to zero waste, it is not possible for all materials to be converted to zero waste at this point in time.

However, by converting the products we can reuse into fuel or other materials, we are keeping them out of landfills and contributing to sustainability efforts by reducing carbon footprints. With our process and capabilities, we focus on turning your company’s waste into Refuse-Derived Fuel. This fuel keeps waste out of landfills and contributes to sustainability efforts.

What is Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF)?

Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), is a fuel that is made by separating combustible from noncombustible particles within the waste. The combustible materials are then turned into fuel, which is then used at power plants as clean fuel. The noncombustible particles are then recycled into different products. At LJP Waste Solutions, the waste our company turns into RDF is used to power Xcel’s energy plants. Xcel has multiple energy plants across the country, with a handful in Minnesota. Currently, two of Xcel’s Minnesota plants use RDF fuel, while others harness wind and solar energy. The two plants that utilize RDF are in Red Wing and Mankato.

Additional Services

In addition to our primary function of helping large manufacturing and processing companies convert their waste to fuel, we also have other services. When you choose LJP for your project, we are immersed every step of the way. We don’t provide you with a quote and let you make the choice based on the cost. We take the time to learn how your company functions, what your goals are, and how we can help you achieve them.

In addition to catering to large companies to help them reduce their waste, we also serve certain residential areas. In this traditional role, our truck drivers go up and down the streets and pick up the trash of residents and other small businesses.
